Antimicrobial Activity of Leaves of Morinda Citrifolia L Noni

Various extracts of the leaf powder of Morinda citrifolia were screened for antimicrobial activity against E coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus vulgaris by cup plate method in nutrient agar medium. The activity was compared with standard levofloxacin under similar condition. The various extracts of Morinda citrifolia were found to exhibit moderate antibacterial activity against E. coli, S. aureus and Proteus vulgaris as compared to the standard levofloxacin.
