Petiole anatomy of 17 species of family euphorbiaceae representing 17 genera. The characters such as outline, epidermal characteristics, numbers of cortical layers, patterns of vasculature, occurrence of crystals, tannin, and spheraphides are found to be useful in identification of different taxa.
