Rare earth elements recovery and preparation of phosphoric acid fromAbu-Tartur phosphate rock using Penicilliumsimplicissimum

About 57% of REEs content in Abu Tartur phosphate ore was leached using fermented media of Penicillium simplicissimum (P.simplicissimum) then precipitated as oxalate formby 10%oxalic acid at pH1. The phosphate residue was treated again by new fermented media under the appropriate working factors followed by reacting the filtrate with sulfuric acid to obtain an improved phosphoric acid containing 52%P2O5 and 6 ppmuraniumthis acid is considered safer from the environmental point of view.
