Simultaneous Spectrophotometric Estimation of Telmisartan and Atorvastatin Calcium in Tablet Dosage Form

Three new simple, accurate and precise spectrophotometric methods have been developed for simultaneous determination of telmisartan and atorvastatin calcium in pharmaceutical dosage form. Method A and Method B involve the first and second order derivative method for simultaneous estimation of these two drugs. Method C involves the area under curve for first order derivative spectrum. Both the drugs obey the Beer’s law in the range 5-30 µg for atorvastatin calcium and 5-40 µg for telmisartan. The results of analysis have been validated statistically and by recovery studies.
