S.Rakshe, P.Roychoudhary, A.Mukherji, S.K.Chakarborty, D.Chakraborty

A new simple chemical route was used to synthesis ATH nanoparticles; using sorbic acid, Sodiumaluminate (SA) and Cetyl TrimethylAmmonium Bromide (CTAB) as surfactant at room temperature with ultrasonication and vigorous stirring. This paper mainly discussed on effects of Sodium Aluminates concentration, Type of surfactants, pH and temperature of reaction mixture while precipitation Lowering of precipitation temperature from40 °C to 30 °C shows sharp reduction in particle size from 200 to 100 nm. Increase in molarity of SA solution increases products yield with increase in particle size. Lightweight and de agglomerated particles appeared in presences of surfactant (CTAB). High yield with reduced particle size was optimized at precipitation pH 12 and in 1.3- 2 mol/Lof Sodium Aluminate concentration. The reported method is new, cheap and fast which will make it suitable for large scale production. Particle size and product yield changes on changing any of the parameter. Fourier Transformed Infra red Spectroscopy analysis (FTIR), XRD, Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Particle Sizing System(PSS), Braunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) Surface area and Thermo gravimetric analyzer (TGA), were used to characterized ATH nano particles.
