Synthesis of Chalcone containing Pyrazolyl Quinazolin-4(3H) Ones and their in vitro Microbial Studies

A series of 2-[2-(2, 6-dichlorophenyl)amino]phenyl methyl-3-[(5-substituted phenyl-1-phenyl)-5- hydro-1H-pyrazol-3-yl-amino]-6,8-dibromoquinazolin-4(3H)-ones were synthesized from 2-[2-(2, 6- dichlorophenyl)amino]phenyl methyl-3-substituted phenyl acryl amido-6,8-dibromoquinazolin-4(3H)- ones with phenylhydrazine hydrate in the presence of glacial acetic acid. Their chemical structures were assigned by spectral analysis (FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR). All the compounds were screened for in vitro antimicrobial activity and some of them exhibited promising results against S. aureus, B. subtilis, E. coli, Certium, A. niger and C. albicans.
